Modern Electric Water Company is celebrating all week long – sharing fun facts about water and recognizing our amazing water crew's efforts to provide safe and reliable drinking water to our customers.
Here are just a few of the fun facts and interesting topics we're exploring at Modern this week:
NASA Found Water on the Moon👩🚀🌊🌕
It's true! NASA discovered WATER on the moon.
In fact, it's all over the moon's surface. But it's mostly in the form of ice, not liquid.
Scientists hope to one day harvest the moon's water so astronauts can use it for drinking water, breathable oxygen or rocket fuel.
When that day arrives, Modern's crew would be happy to test your first glass of moon water and ensure it's as PURE and CLEAN as our drinking water here in the Spokane Valley.

Modern Has a Local Water Superhero🦸
In 2022, Modern was honored to see Water Department Installer/Operator Lance Yoppini recognized as the year's recipient of the American Water Works Association's Inland Empire Subsection 2022 Muddy Boots Award. As an honoree, Lance was invited to the IESS Annual Banquet in appreciation for being a hard-working operator who goes above and beyond regular duties, setting the bar high for workers in the water industry.
Lance is hard working and has a vast knowledge of the system he operates. He is happy to assist his colleagues whenever they ask, and he takes initiative to guarantee the system is running to its full potential, all so Modern can provide some of the highest quality water to our valued customers in the Spokane Valley.
